Primary Season FAQ's
Q: AFTER I REGISTER, WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK?
A: Your son or daughter will be placed on a team around mid- late August. Your contact info will be given to the coach of the team. For 5U, there are no assigned coaches. All 5U games are Jamboree style. For 6U, the coach should be contacting you before the first games. For 8U-16U, the coach should be contacting you before the first practices. If you haven't heard from a coach by then, please use the "contact us" form on this website to notify us. Uniforms will be handed out at the coaches meeting, times and location are posted on the calendar. Game info is below under "news by age division".
Q: CAN I REQUEST A PRACTICE TIME OR DAY?
A: Practice times and days are chosen by the coaches. All player practice requests should be listed on the registration application. Prescott AYSO will do its best to accommodate a practice preference but not all requests can be honored. Also, keep in mind that Prescott AYSO is run by a small group of volunteers so please be patient with any requests. The cut-off for practice requests is before the first practice.
Q: MY SON OR DAUGHTER HAS NEVER PLAYED SOCCER. CAN THEY SIGN UP?
A: Yes. AYSO is geared for youth of all skill levels
Q: HOW ARE TEAMS SPLIT UP?
A: Teams are first split by age division. Then by gender at the lower age divisions. Then AYSO balances teams based on skill level. Much effort is made so that teams are even.
Q: CAN I CHOSE A COACH FOR MY SON OR DAUGHTER?
A: No, not typically. AYSO puts much effort into balancing teams so there is no guarantee that your child will be placed with any specific team.
Q: DO I NEED SOCCER EXPERIENCE TO COACH AYSO TEAM?
A: AYSO will train you, so no soccer experience is required.
Q: AS A COACH, CAN I REQUEST THAT PLAYERS BE ADDED TO MY TEAM?
A: Your child and the child of your assistant coach will be added to the team. The rest of the team is added by random selection.
Q: I'M HAVING TROUBLE REGISTERING MY SON OR DAUGHTER ONLINE. IS THERE SOMEONE I CAN CONTACT?

Q: MY SON OR DAUGHTER IS AN ADVANCED SOCCER PLAYER. DOES PRESCOTT AYSO OFFER PROGRAMS FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS?
A: Yes. Go to the AYSO Programs tab to view information about Pride Teams.
Q: DOES PRESCOTT AYSO OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THOSE WITH FINANCIAL NEED?
A: Yes. Notify us on the player registration application of any financial assistance needed. See details under the "cost" headline.
