Primary Season FAQ's
Q: AFTER I REGISTER, WHEN WILL I HEAR FORM "MY" COACH?
A: Your son or daughter will be placed and assigned to a Team in early August. Your contact info will be given to the coach of the team at the Coaches Meeting in Mid-August, and they will reach out to you once they receive their Team packet.
For Playground/Schoolyard there are no assigned coaches, but the Program Director "Master Coach" will reach out to you 1-2 weeks before the first game.
For 6U, coaches should be contacting you the week before/of the first game.
For 8U-16U, the coach should be contacting you before the first practices.

Q: CAN I REQUEST A PRACTICE TIME OR DAY?
A: Practice times and days are chosen by the coaches. Prescott AYSO will do its best to accommodate a practice preference but not all requests can be honored. Also, keep in mind that Prescott AYSO is run by a small group of volunteers so please be patient with any requests. The cut-off for practice requests are before the first practice.
Q: MY SON OR DAUGHTER HAS NEVER PLAYED SOCCER. CAN THEY SIGN UP?
A: Yes. AYSO is geared for youth of all skill levels
Q: HOW ARE TEAMS SPLIT UP?
A: Teams are first split by age division. Then by gender at the lower age divisions. Then AYSO balances teams based on the skill level and Player Ratings from the previous year. Much effort is made so that teams are as evenly balance as possible at the Team Split.
Q: CAN I CHOSE A COACH FOR MY SON OR DAUGHTER?
A: NO. You may request not to have a specific Coach. AYSO puts much effort into balancing teams, there is no guarantee that your child will be placed with any specific team.
Q: DO I NEED SOCCER EXPERIENCE TO COACH AN AYSO TEAM?
A: AYSO trains and Certifies ALL coaches, so no soccer experience is required.
Q: AS A COACH, CAN I REQUEST THAT PLAYERS BE ADDED TO MY TEAM?
A: Your child and the child of your assistant coach will be added to the team. The rest of the team is added by random selection.
Q: I'M HAVING TROUBLE REGISTERING MY SON OR DAUGHTER ONLINE. IS THERE SOMEONE I CAN CONTACT?

Q: MY SON OR DAUGHTER IS AN ADVANCED SOCCER PLAYER. DOES PRESCOTT AYSO OFFER PROGRAMS FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS?
A: Yes. Go to the AYSO Programs tab to view information about our EXTRA Program
Q: DOES PRESCOTT AYSO OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THOSE WITH FINANCIAL NEED?
A: Yes. The Application is on the "FORMS" tab for the Playership Form
Q: WHAT AGE GROUP SHOULD PLAYERS BE PLACED IN?A: USSF, and AYSO, will be returning to a "School" based Registration Calendar. August 1st - July 31st
Playground / Schoolyard are not shown but will be the Ages of: August 1st 2021 through July 31st 2023.
